These terms govern your use of kvoroom ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1.Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must sign up with a valid email address that you control.
- One person, one account. Don't create accounts for someone else without their permission.
2.Your account
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Your username is permanent once chosen, so pick one you're happy with. Usernames that impersonate others or break section 5 may be removed.
- You need to confirm your email address before you can create a room or send messages.
3.The Service
kvoroom lets you chat in rooms tied to real places, and in one-to-one chats with other users. Rooms have a radius, a capacity limit and, for rooms created by users, a limited lifetime; some rooms may require a password. Messages are deleted automatically 24 hours after they're sent, and we don't keep backups you can restore them from. How it works describes the current rules in detail; they may change as the Service develops.
The Service is free. There are no purchases or paid features.
4.Location and rooms
- Rooms are meant for people who are actually there. You must be within a room's radius to join it and to post in it.
- Don't fake, spoof or otherwise manipulate your location to get around this.
- Room owners can pin their own messages and can delete their room. Rooms created by users expire on their own.
5.Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- threaten, harass, stalk, or incite violence against any person or group;
- post sexually explicit content, or any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers minors (see our Child Safety Standards);
- post hate speech, or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or nationality;
- share someone else's private information without their consent;
- impersonate other people, organisations or kvoroom staff;
- send spam, malware, phishing links or unsolicited advertising;
- try to access accounts or data that aren't yours;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or otherwise misuse the Service or its API;
- break any applicable law.
6.Moderation
- Anyone can report a message. A message reported by several people is hidden for everyone until it's reviewed.
- We review reports and may remove content, and may restrict, temporarily ban or permanently close accounts that break these terms, without prior notice.
- You can block any user at any time. Blocking removes them from rooms you created, hides your rooms from them, and stops direct messages between you.
7.Your content
- You keep ownership of the messages and photos you post.
- By posting, you give kvoroom a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, display and moderate that content, only to operate the Service.
- You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.
8.Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Remove account. Deletion takes effect after 14 days, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can also ask us by email.
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if it stays inactive for a long period, or if we discontinue the Service.
- Sections 5, 10, 11, 12 and 13 continue to apply after your account ends.
9.Availability
We work to keep kvoroom available at all times, but we can't guarantee it. We may take the Service offline for maintenance, updates or security reasons, and we may change or remove features.
10.Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that other users will behave lawfully or appropriately.
11.Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, kvoroom and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
12.Indemnity
You agree to indemnify kvoroom against claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service.
13.Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Sarajevo, unless the consumer protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to a different forum.
14.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app and update the effective date at the top of this page. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated terms.
